I made this for my kid telling him the stories how 90&#8217;s kids loved it.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cuisine: Indian<\/li><li>Course: Snack                    <\/li><li>Prep time: 4hrs                     <\/li><li>Cook time: 30 mins                          <\/li><li>Serves: 25-30 balls<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Rice- 1 cup <\/li><li>Urad dhall- 1\/4 cup <\/li><li>Sugar &#8211; 1 cup <\/li><li>Water &#8211; 1 cup <\/li><li>Orange color &#8211; a pinch <\/li><li>Baking soda &#8211; 1\/4 tsp <\/li><li>Oil to deep fry<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Soak rice and urad dhall for 4 hrs and grind to smooth batter. <\/li><li>In a bowl add the batter, baking soda and orange color and mix them well. <\/li><li>In a heavy bottomed pan melt the sugar in water and bring to 1\/2 string consistency. <\/li><li>Once sugar dissolves turn off and add 1\/4 tsp of lemon to it. <\/li><li>This stops the sugar from crystallization. <\/li><li>Heat oil in a pan and start dropping small balls from the batter. <\/li><li>Once the balls come to surface and they are crisp out all side, take them out of oil and transfer immediately to sugar syrup. <\/li><li>Let them soak in syrup for 10-15mins. <\/li><li>Enjoi the thaen mittai. <\/li><li>If you need more sweetness, you can roll each thaen mittai in sugar.
