It is always a festive dessert.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cuisine: Indian                        <\/li><li>Course: Dessert\/Sweet              <\/li><li>Prep time: 15mins <\/li><li>Cook time: 45mins                  <\/li><li>Serves: 4 Persons.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Moon dal &#8211; 1\/2 cup <\/li><li>Water &#8211; 2 cup <\/li><li>Wheat flour &#8211; 2 tbsp <\/li><li>Sugar &#8211; 1 cup <\/li><li>Ghee &#8211; 1\/4th cup + 3 tsp. <\/li><li>Cardamom &#8211; a pinch cashew and raisins &#8211; 1\/2 cup <\/li><li>Orange Color &#8211; a pinch<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In a pressure cooker add 1 tsp of ghee and rinsed moong dal. <\/li><li>Roast it until aroma arises. Add 2 cups of water and stir well. <\/li><li>Pressure cook for 4 whistles. <\/li><li>Open the cooker and mash well. <\/li><li>Once cool down grind it to a smooth paste in a blender. <\/li><li>In a pan add 1\/4th cup and add wheat flour and mix well. <\/li><li>Roast until aroma arises. Add the moong dal paste and combine well.<\/li><li>Keep stirring in low flame until the paste forms a shiny layer. <\/li><li>Add sugar and stir until it dissolves. Mix well and keep stirring in low flame. <\/li><li>Keep cooking until the halwa thickens. <\/li><li>Add a pinch of orange color if you need. Mix well.<\/li><li>Keep stirring for 30mins until the halwa separates from pan. <\/li><li>In a pan add 1tsp ghee and roast cashews and raisins golden brown. <\/li><li>Add them to halwa and 1 tsp of ghee and mix well. <\/li><li>Serve hot.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Notes: <\/strong>You can skip food color if you want natural color.<\/li><li>Only when dal is mashed well, it stays smooth when cooked.<\/li><li>Wheat flour can be replaced by Maida(all purpose flour)<\/li><li>Be generous in adding ghee. The texture would be really good.<\/li><li>Once you cool down the ghee will get frosted.
