This is usually served with coconut chutney or kadalai paruppu\/Chana dal chutney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cuisine: Indian<\/li><li>Course: Lunch\/Dinner<\/li><li>Prep time: 5mins<\/li><li>Cook time: 25mins<\/li><li>Serves: 3 Persons.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Rice &#8211; 1 cup<\/li><li>Moong dal &#8211; 1\/2 cup<\/li><li>Green chillies &#8211; 4<\/li><li>Coconut &#8211; 2 tbsp<\/li><li>Chana dal and urad dal &#8211; 1 tsp each<\/li><li>Curry leaves few<\/li><li>Salt to taste<\/li><li>Oil &#8211; 2 tbsp<\/li><li>Mustard seeds &#8211; 1 tsp<\/li><li>Water &#8211; 2 cups<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wash and soak rice and moong dal in a bowl and set aside.<\/li><li>In a pressure cooker add oil. Once oil is hot add mustard seeds. Let it splutter. Add chana dal and urad dal. Fry them <\/li><li>Add curry leaves and green chillies. Fry them for a minute.<\/li><li>Add shredded coconut and fry. <\/li><li>Add rice and moong dal to the cooker. Add water and mix well. Also add salt. Mix well.<\/li><li>Close the lid and put whistle. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.<\/li><li>Open and serve hot Usili.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/li><li>Do not add too much water as it will make mushy. <\/li><li>You can skip coconut or add at the end also.<\/li><li>Dry red chillies can be used instead of green chillies.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Usili is one variety of upma that can be prepared in minutes with minimal ingredients.
