This kuzhambu is iron rich and has its own health benefits. It stays good for 3 days if refrigerated. Serve this with hot rice and some potato fry or even with some vadam. I don&#8217;t prefer adding onion or garlic in this kuzhambu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cuisine: South Indian<\/li><li>Course: Kuzhambu<\/li><li>Prep time: 15mins.<\/li><li>Cook time: 30mins<\/li><li>Serves: 3 persons.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">For masala paste:<\/span><\/strong><\/li><li>Gingelly oil- 1 tsp +1\/4 cup<\/li><li>Pepper- 1.5tbsp<\/li><li>Dry red chillies- 4nos.<\/li><li>Urad dal- 2 tbsp<\/li><li>Coriander seeds- 1\/2 tbsp<\/li><li>Ginger-1\/2 tbsp<\/li><li>Cumin- 1\/2 tbsp<\/li><li>Curry leaves- 2 handfull.<\/li><li>Tamarind- lemon size. Soak and extract juice.<\/li><li>Sundakkai\/Turkey berry dry- 2 tbsp<\/li><li>Mustard seeds- 1tsp<\/li><li>Urad dal- 1tsp<\/li><li>Dry red chillies- 2<\/li><li>Hing<\/li><li>Turmeric &#8211; 1\/4tsp<\/li><li>Salt as required.<\/li><li>Jagerry- 1\/2 tsp<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In a pan add oil. Once oil is hot add pepper, dry red chilli, urad dal and coriander seeds.Fry until golden.<\/li><li>Add ginger and cumin and fry for a min.<\/li><li>Remove from flame and allow them to cool down. <\/li><li>In the same pan add gingelly oil 1\/2 tsp and curry leaves. Fry them nice crisp.<\/li><li>Remove and transfer them to blender. Grind them to fine powder. Now add the roasted pepper, dal and chillies. Add little water and grind them to fine paste.<\/li><li>Add oil in a pan. Add turkey berry or sundakkai and fry them until black.<\/li><li>Add mustard seeds, urad dal and dry red chillies.<\/li><li>Add tamarind extract and hing.  <\/li><li>Add turmeric and salt as required. mix them well.<\/li><li>Once they boil for 5mins, add the grind curry leaves paste.<\/li><li>Boil for 15mins on medium flame.
